Who They Are: Shiseido Americas is a leading global beauty company. Shiseido Americas’ portfolio of prestige beauty brands includes SHISEIDO, NARS, Clé de Peau Beauté and several fragrance brands including ISSEY MIYAKE and narciso rodriguez.

Laura Mercier was part of the Shiseido lineup until 2021.

Seaport installation

Brand summit

Shiseido Corp. hosts a recurring brand summit to bring together its portfolio of brands and their respective leaders to talk about the state of the industry, company, and future innovative trends.

In 2018 the summit was hosted in FiDI, NYC; split between the South Street Seaport and The Four Seasons downtown.

With a limited budget, the LDJ productions team was tasked with elevating the space with graphics and scenic pieces.

A floral challenge

One of the biggest asks for the summit was a photo op for NARS, with their dream being a full flower wall. However, budgetary constraints took that dream and forced the team to come up with some creative alternatives. With the biggest price driver of an installation such as this being the live flowers, the team came up with an innovative solution of routing out the NARS logo from MDF and placing florals into those channels. The result: a gorgeous centerpiece that didn’t break the bank.
